Project Spotlight: Newtown Clubhouse

Situated within Newtown, Pennsylvania exists a hamlet called Newtown Grant. This “Bucks County” Community, located 30 miles North of Center City Philadelphia features a host of great amenities for its residents including a pool and clubhouse! Parallel Architectural Group designer Giselle Hymanson  recently remodeled their men’s and women’s locker rooms with the help of Nemo Tile + Stone!

For the walls, Giselle chose Aegean Stone in the color Light Grey. A striking emulation of authentic Aegean stone, this collection captures the dramatic natural beauty of the Greek Islands. Bold graphics are balanced with soft, rich colors in a palette that reflects current trends but echoes timeless traditions. This porcelain tile perfectly mimics the natural stone, with various screens, while maintaining the longevity and ease of porcelain.

For the floors, Giselle chose Mars Stone which exudes refined elegance; its minimalist design is softened by the intricate design elements in one-on-tone and subtly contrasting colors. The glaze variation and texture of Mars Stone adds more interest than a uniform tile, adding the needed slip resistance for commercial spaces and appropriate for high traffic zones like this busy clubhouse locker room. With the incredible look of real stone and the resilience of a through body tile, both are a winning pair for the hard-wearing nature of porcelain, Mars Stone & Aegean Stone were the perfect choice!

A unique design feature in this project are the “envelope cuts” in the floor tile. Envelope cuts are specialized cuts made in larger size porcelain tile to allow water to slope to drains where intended.  This specialized cut also allows architects and designers to maintain a floor design and/or pattern without incorporating smaller size tiles such as mosaics.

Project Spotlight: Marvel Master Bathroom

A gorgeous spec home by Susan Tan on 106 Irma Ave, Pt Washington, NY

This stunning new construction built by Susan Tan and thoughtfully designed by Esperanza Huggins of Nemo Tile is a Colonial with luxury and modern finishes in Manhattan style. To complete her vision, Susan Tan turned to Nemo Tile + Stone, Hicksville for all of her tile needs.

Nemo’s Marvel Calacatta in extra polished 12×24 covers the bathroom walls and floor in a classic stacked pattern for the walls and running bond pattern on the floor. Marvel, a porcelain tile, has the incredible look of real marble and the resilience and hard-wearing nature of porcelain, making it the perfect alternative to marble. The larger format tiles also create a clean, serene and elegant space.

Behind the double his and hers vanity the Marvel Calacatta extends all the way to the ceiling accentuating the gorgeous height and sloped ceilings in this space. Flowing from the showerstall, the continous full wall tiling brings a spa-like quality. To create a beautiful focal point and add interest to the shower space, Marvel Calacatta ⅝ Mosaic was placed on the two shower walls. Breaking up the larger format Marvel Calacatta tiles, the small mosaic pattern creates adds a touch of interest and elegance. To compliment the shower focal point, Marvel Calacatta 2” Mosaic was used for the showerpan. The extra grout joints of the mosaic add a layer of slip-resistance while feeling great on the feet!

For the finishing touches a Kohler shower head, Hans Grohe fixtures, a Large soaker tub, and Anderson windows wrap up this space. Stay tuned for next week’s Project Spotlight where we will take a closer look at other spaces in this beautiful home!

Project Spotlight: Old World Meets New World

A gorgeous spec home by GreenRose Fine Homes on 6 Glenmere Dr, Chatham Township, NJ.

This stunning new construction thoughtfully designed by GreenRose Fine Homes, an award-winning full service real estate Design-Build firm including Interior Design and coordinated General Contracting, can be best described as a modern farmhouse. To complete their vision, partners Steve Moran and Ken Malian turned to Nemo Tile + Stone for all of their tile needs.

For the shower walls Nemo Tile’s Hawthorn in Sky was chosen. This large format subway tile features an undulating texture and distinct glazing for an antiqued look. The wave-like texture plays beautifully with the natural light in this gorgeous space and the soft sky blue glazing adds a pop of color without overwhelming.

The soft grey glazing accents of the Hawthorn tile pairs beautifully with the custom Carrara Marble Mosaic on the shower floor. This picket shaped mosaic adds interest to the space and coordinated with the marble slab shower bench and shower saddle.

For the finishing touches, a polished nickel Schluter trim and Ucore fixtures  wrap up this space.

The second bathroom features a  hidden pop of color! Entering the space the shower walls feature Nemo Tile’s Casablanca in Square Cloud. When you face the shower, the back wall features a pop  with Nemo Tile’s Casablanca in Hex Palm. The watercolor tones mirror the style of handmade tiles with high shade chromatic variation for a unique final installation. The added value of traditionally crafted products lies in the fact that no two pieces are alike, which is what Casablanca embodies with its distressed, handcrafted, high color variation look available in 8 different colorways.

The shower and bathroom floor feature Nemo Tile’s Fusion Tweed in Cotton. This powdered glass mosaic features a mini chevron shape that provides great interest in this space!

The patterns of our Fusion Collection appear in a varying gloss and matte finish mix, providing depth & sheen. The Fusion collection has 4 unique shapes and 14 colorway options that provide designers and end-users versatility to create individual, tailored looks unique to their own personal style!
