As reflective and glittery as a sheet of ice, eco-friendly Re-crystalized Glass is manufactured in a manner similar to terrazzo or engineered stone. Tiles are formed by laying glass crystals-salvaged from post-industrial sources-in a tray the desired thickness of the final product, then baked in a 1,300-degree Celsius kiln for 30 hours until it melts into liquid glass. The material recrystallizes during the cooling process, creating a surface whose glamorous look belies its imperviousness and durability.
