The 2018 Tile Trends on the Rise!

We are now well and truly into the new year meaning it's time we shared our 2018 tile trend predictions! Installing tile in your home can be a big investment especially kitchen and bathroom remodels. While we may never tire of a subway tile backsplash or a patterned black-and-white hexagon tile bathroom floor, sometimes they feel like the safe option. They can come across as a little boring, in a room that needs some personality. Here are four trends that are expected to be huge in the coming year. Hexagons While the hexagon shape is by no means new, we anticipate its popularity will further grow in its many variations. The use of hexagons in unexpected ways, such as in various sizes and patterns. Small mosaic sizes or larger sizes in various patterns, and on walls for kitchen backsplashes. This shape is no longer reserved just for floors!

Weathered  There is an ongoing fascination with unfinished spaces. Colored tile with rustic marks, oxidized metal looks, and scratch marks. These rustic imperfections and worn surfaces give an interesting vintage effect.

Picket The picket is a unique and eye-catching shape that creates a contemporary and modern flair, suited in various spaces. The picket is a rectangle, finished with points on both ends like a picket fence. It’s a great alternative to the popular subway tile for a backsplash and other vertical spaces. Our handwritten collection includes the picket shape and is available in nine glossy colors. The combinations and sizes are endless.  One of the biggest trends of the year is the chevron backsplash. It brings both visual and textural contrast and the result is an instant focal point of your kitchen.
