Project Spotlight: “A Bathroom Fit for a Dance Party”

The Master Bath of Tracy and Kevin Stetter   When the Stetters first moved into their Oceanport home, the entire house boasted a dated color palette of sea foam green and pink.  When it came time to think renovation updates, the master bath was the very first project the couple tackled in their new home. The original master bath had a tiny shower, a huge corner green jetted Jacuzzi and a “dysfunctional” layout that lacked flow.  Anxious to get moving on the renovations, Kevin Stetter began demoing even before he and his wife, Tracy had ordered anything or even had any plans, forcing them to use their kids’ bathroom for months. After conferring with their architect, “We took out walls, repositioned pipes, moved the toilet, added a new tub that weighed 400 lbs. and changed the entire layout to fit our needs. This bathroom was truly a labor of love and I love the way it flows now!” says Stetter. “The big open space in the middle of the bathroom was factored into the design because we have dance parties with the kids in here. Where better to dance than in your bathroom?!” Once the construction was behind them, “I called my friend Denise Sciametta with NEMO Tile Red Bank to help me make it gorgeous,” says Mrs. Stetter.  Denise Sciametta is NEMO Tile Red Bank’s Interior Designer/Showroom designer with twenty years of experience ranging from commercial interior design to residential design. In fact, The Stetters were Denise’s first customers in the new Red Bank showroom. I loved the Penny Round Tile but didn’t know for sure what color. We just knew we wanted a color,” says Stetter.  With the help of NEMO Tile Designer Denise, “we ultimately decided on using the Jadite Penny Round Tile for the entire wall behind the vanity.  It’s soft enough to give the bathroom personality but not too much color that the overall look couldn’t be changed with accessories.”     To compliment the tile rounds, Stetter opted for two faucets in the wall in oil rubbed bronze with a thick, matte white trough sink for ultimate functionality. The homeowner loved the look and NEMO Designer Denise Sciametta made sure that they still had enough counter space. The design was further punched up with individual mirrors and hanging pendent lights also in oil rubbed bronze.   In the shower, the homeowners selected the 2x20 Ara Ceramic Wall Tile in Naturale.  The oversized length of this high gloss white tile makes a dramatic impression, especially when offset by using a dark grey grout to give the shower a rustic spa look. “Denise wisely suggested that we put our shelf of products in the shower knee wall so that it is hidden and isn’t the first thing you see when you walk in to the space.”   NEMO Tile Materials Used: Jadite Penny Round Tile 2x20 Ara Ceramic Wall Tile in Naturale   Master Bath Credits: Tile: NEMO Tile + Stone Red Bank Vanity Base: Houzz Vanity Countertop: ADM Shower Enclosure: AM and PM Glass Rainfall Showerhead: Ferguson Showroom Middletown, NJ Pendent Lights: Lamps Plus
