Project Spotlight: Charming Modern Mudroom & Bath
After moving into their new home, originally built in 1968, the homeowners decided it was time for a renovation. Working with architect Peter Goodhue, they wanted to create a California ranch feel with an open floor plan, big windows, and clean lines. Here’s a look at how they carried this theme throughout their home in their mudroom and guest bathroom!
For the inclosed shower of their guest bathroom Nemo’s Towne 2.5x10 in White Moon with Black Crackle was chosen for the walls. This gorgeous subway tile features a distinct crackle glaze, giving it an added dimension and antique look. Installed in a vertical stackedbond pattern draws the eye up and creates the feeling of a larger space.
The shower floor features Nemo’s Glazed Hexagon mosaic in Cornflower that gives the space a pop of color! The soft blue hues and dark grout play beautifully with the subtle black crackle glaze of the wall tile.Available in 20 colorways, our hexagon mosaic is a great way to create a vintage look that’s new again!
The bathroom floor is Nemo’s Strada 12x24 in Cold. This textured and earthy porcelain tile pairs perfectly with the gorgeous shiplap walls for a modern twist on a classic design. Available in five colors in both natural and textured finishes, Strada is suitable for both walls and flooring making it a versatile and low maintenance choice.
Moving to the mudroom, the shiplap walls keep the design theme flowing throughout the house. Paired with Nemo’s Area Porcelain 12x24 in Gray on the floor these larger format tiles installed in a running bond pattern give the space a larger feel. This charming mudroom has custom built cubbies for each of the family’s three boys with the durable porcelain floor that is sure to stand up to any weather!
