Project Spotlight: A Light, Bright Marble Bathroom

nemo-tile-marble-bathroom It was only a matter of time before falling in love with a stone. I handle public relations for the NEMO Tile Red Bank showroom and at each in-house event we do, I am drawn to the different design displays inside the gorgeous space.   The NEMO Tile Red Bank showroom is designed to help people like me, who need to see it in person in order to make a decision.  I like to touch the stone and tile options and to see how it works in conjunction with other materials and colors.  In fact, I fell in love with the showroom display so much that I had it duplicated in my own home!   To transform a dated, dark pink floral bathroom into my luxurious escape, I chose the Bianco Dolemite Herringbone Mosaic on both my bathroom and shower floor. The herringbone layout adds a bit of movement to the design and feels fantastic on bare feet. nemo-tile-marble-bathroom On the walls, I chose the Bianco Dolomiti - Direto, a polished marble in 12 x 24. I had the stone tile go straight up from floor to ceiling on three walls. We designed an over sized custom shower enclosure to take advantage of the ceiling height and to add a little bit of drama to the space. Marble is a great choice for a smaller space and my bathroom now feels brighter and bigger than before.   The vanity top, door saddle and shower enclosure stone framing are Pentalquartz in super white, which beautifully compliments the rich marble. Our contractor Vincent Vuocolo custom crafted a picture frame trim around the windows and baseboards out of the Bianco Dolomiti – Direto marble to complete the elegant look. nemo-tile-marble-bathroom My bathroom often gets abused with makeup and hair products and the occasional glass of wine, so NEMO Tile Red Bank Showroom Designer Denise Sciametta, wisely recommended that I seal the marble with Latricrete Stonetech Heavy Duty Sealer to protect against stains. nemo-tile-marble-bathroom We live on the Navesink River and I wanted to draw on the colors of the water to create a soothing space.  I loved the clean lines of the vanity and the bluish gray finish brings out the color of the marble veining. Silver chrome accents and a crystal chandelier are the perfect final touches that bring in a bit of sparkle to the space. nemo-tile-marble-bathroom   NEMO Tile Materials:   Walls Bianco Dolomiti - Direto in 12 x 24 Floor Bianco Dolemite Herringbone Mosaic   Vendors: Contractor: Vincent Vuocolo General Construction (908) 309-7275 Shower Enclosure: Shore Glass Vanity: Newhalem Collection by Strasser.
