Project Spotlight: Philadelphia Row Home Refresh
Built in the 1800’s, this classic Philadelphia Row Home in Center City was due for a renovation. The homeowners wanted to keep the design inline with the original period of the home with a refresh. With the help of Nemo Tile and Rachel Salomon, Nemo Tile Philadelphia’s Showroom Manager, they made their vision a reality!
Starting with the first level, the kitchen backsplash features Ara ceramic in naturale with a gloss finish in 2×20. The standard subway layout gives the space a classic, clean look while the larger format and the textured surface of the tiles gives it that modern twist. Paired with a dark grey grout, the undulated edges really pop showing off the handmade-look!
Off the kitchen is the mudroom and small powder room. The powder room features a unique Marine sink that was salvaged from an old ship! The owner added our Glazed Pennyround in Cornflower as a backsplash. Cornflower Blue has a reactive glaze that pools the soft blue color to the center and creates an exposed ceramic edge. The Penny Round is a classic and understated design, but one which gives your room a bold and graphic impact!
For a clean and classic look, Nemo Tile’s Metro Wall tile was selected for the bathroom walls. This classic ceramic tile is perfect for so many applications. The 4x8 subway tile was installed in a traditional pattern and finished with a coordinating Metro White Gloss Bullnose tile. The crisp white subway tile brightens up this beautiful bathroom.
Transitioning from the bathroom to the mudroom the floor tile is a patchwork patterned tile that Nemo Tile sourced, filled with blue and brown hues. The playful patchwork of patterns really livens up the space while the muted color palette perfectly fits this historic home.
