Project Spotlight: Port Washington Home Pt 1
Susan Tan does ground up builds in Port Washington Long Island, which you can find featured on the Nemo blog! She loves working with Nemo “because of the wide array of tiles for any needs or designs.” Let’s take a look inside her master bathroom thoughtfully designed by Esperanza Huggins of Nemo Tile, Hicksville!
For the master bathroom walls and floor Nemo Tile’s 12x24 Bianco Dolomiti was chosen. This beautiful marble features a bright white background with a slight variation in veining, which gives it more character than a traditional pure white Thassos marble. The light grey natural veining creates almost a watercolor design which pairs perfectly with the natural stone mosaics used as accents in this space.
For the focal wall behind the his and hers vanity, Nemo Tile’s Ruscello stone mosaic in Haisa Cueno was chosen. This unique trapezoid mosaic in a gorgeous taupe palette features natural stone variation and veining. The trapezoid stone pieces feature a variety of directional stone cuts that highlight the natural veining and color variation of this stone!
The shower focal wall and niche features floor to ceiling Nemo Tile Stone Mosaic in Haisa Piccolo. This mosaic features the same beautiful coloring and veining as the vanity focal wall tile but with small rectangles in various heights. For the showerpan the Stone Mosaic in Haisa Cueno was used again.
A beautiful hammered copper tub, Toto smart toilet, HansGohre and Axor plumbing fixtures complete this master bath.
For the upstairs bathroom Nemo Tile’s Area Smoke 2x12 Herringbone was chosen for the floor. This large format herringbone mosaic creates beautiful movement in the space. Area brings the aesthetic of cement into the space by perfectly mimicking the look of poured concrete in a durable porcelain format. The rich smoke grey color perfectly pairs with the steel blue vanity.
For the finishing touches HansGrohe plumbing fixtures, Kohler sink, and a Duravit toilet wrap up this space.
Stay tuned for next week’s Project Spotlight where we will take a closer look at other spaces in this beautiful home!
