Project Spotlight: Port Washington Home Pt 2
Susan Tan does ground up builds in Port Washington Long Island, which you can find featured on the Nemo blog! She loves working with Nemo “because of the wide array of tiles for any needs or designs.” Let’s take a look inside her home, thoughtfully designed by Esperanza Huggins of Nemo Tile, Hicksville!
Nemo’s Opus Cliff in 32×32 format was chosen for the floor, walls, and shower surround. The oversized porcelain tiles mimic the textured look of poured concrete and the glaze variation of Opus adds more interest than a uniform tile. The open shower and fully tiled space makes this the perfect wetroom!
HansGrohe Axor shower head and plumbing fixtures, a reclaimed wood vanity with a hammer sink, beautiful light fixture, Miele washer and Dryer, and Toto toilet wrap up this space.
For the first floor powder room Nemo Tile’s 4×24 Lavagna Stone tile in color ‘Alaska’ was used on the bathroom walls and built in niche. This unique natural stone features a multitude of natural color variations and textures, perfect for adding dimension and pairing with a wide variety of color schemes. The combination of natural textures and a fully tiled room create a great amount of movement and the appearance of a larger space.
Nemo Tile’s Alta Grey in 12×24 was chosen for the floor. Laid out in a classic stack bond pattern to complement the wall tile, this classic tile pairs perfectly with the colors of the Lavagna Alaska without overwhelming the space. A Toto toilet and HansGrohe Axor plumbing fixtures and sink complete this space.
For their wine cellar Nemo Tile’s Ranch wood in Beige was chosen. Wood-look porcelain tile is the perfect choice for basements as it does not absorb water which would cause natural wood to warp. Bring authentic character to your living space with this porcelain alternative to wood!
