Project Spotlight: Rumson Bathrooms

After moving into their new home, originally built in 1968 with the perfect yard for their 3 boys, the homeowners decided it was time for a renovation. Working with architect Peter Goodhue, they wanted to create a California ranch feel with an open floor plan, big windows, and clean lines with a modern twist. Here’s a look at how they carried this theme throughout two of their boy’s bathrooms.   project spotlight ara naturale   The first space is a Jack and Jill bathroom shared by the homeowner’s sons. The bathroom walls were done in Ara ceramic in color Naturale with a gloss finish in 2×10. The standard subway layout gives the space a classic, clean look while the larger format and undulated surface of the tiles gives it that modern twist.   project spotlight ara naturale project spotlight ara naturale   For the floor and showerpan, Nemo’s Glazed Pennyround Mosaic in Dandelion was chosen. The classic pennyround tile creates a lot of interest in this space! The color Dandelion has a reactive glaze that pools the soft white color to the center and creates an exposed ceramic edge. Another modern twist on the classic white penny!   project spotlight pennyround dandelion project spotlight pennyround dandelion   Pulling hues from the penny floor tile, Nemo’s  Marvel 12x24 in Silver Travertino Matte brings a masculine look to the shower walls. This large format tile installed in a running bond pattern gives the shower space a much larger feel. Marvel, a porcelain tile, has the incredible look of real travertine and the resilience and hard-wearing nature of porcelain, making it the perfect alternative to travertine. project spotlight MarvelPro_TravertinoSilver project spotlight MarvelPro_TravertinoSilver   For their oldest son’s bathroom fashion and interior design merge in Nemo Tile’s Fabric Folio Porcelain Tile 12x24 in Silver. The fabric effect made on an advanced porcelain surface with three-dimensional texture adds chromatic movement and alternating visual sequences that mimic textiles. The larger format tiles installed in a running bond pattern also give the space a larger feel.   project spotlight nemo tile Fabric Folio Silver project spotlight nemo tile Fabric Folio Silver   In the shower Nemo’s Metro Subway 4x16 in white continues the classic but modern twist seen throughout the home. Although installed in a classic stackedbond pattern, the design is alternates from vertical to horizontal on the back and side walls.   project spotlight nemo tile Metro White Matte project spotlight nemo tile Metro White Matte   The bathroom is tied together with gorgeous shiplap walls and a vanity from Restoration Hardware.   NEMO Products Used: Jack and Jill Bathroom Bathroom Floor/Shower Pan: Glazed Pennyround Mosaic in Dandelion Bathroom Walls: Ara 2x10 in Naturale Shower Walls: Nemo’s  Marvel 12x24 in Silver Travertino Matte   Bathroom 2 Bathroom Floor: Nemo Tile’s Fabric Folio Porcelain Tile 12x24 in Silver Shower Walls: Nemo’s Metro Subway 4x16 in White Matte     Vendors: Architect: Peter Goodhue Grout: Laticrete
