One of the jewels in the crown of Red Bank’s “Downtown”, Two River Theater produces a theatrical season that includes American and world classics, new plays and musicals, programs for young people, and festivals of new work. Each year, they also offer 40+ events that reflect the diverse community of Red Bank, New Jersey.

Two River recently opened a 36,000 square foot addition to their existing theater complex. A plan over 10 years in the making, Nemo Tile was thrilled to be selected to be a part of this amazing addition. The Center for New Work, Education and Design is a three-story facility that includes two rehearsal studios, artist labs, classrooms, expanded shops and centrally located offices.

The architect, Ron Grammer, Principal of kGD Grammer Designs, said it was very helpful to work along side of A+D sales representative Carrie Bocci at the showroom, Nemo Tile Red Bank, so close to the local site of the project. This made for greater ease in client interactions and final review. The concept for interior design led to a “mix  & match traditional design with artistic and unique feel.“

Their final decision was to use Gramercy Décor Mix Bianco with a mix of the solid Gramercy Bianco Hex tiles to waterfall down the walls onto the floor. Intersecting this design, they selected the Brooklyn Dumbo in a 4x12 stacked pattern with gray grout.

After reviewing all options, they decided a “Black and White Scheme” would suit the restrooms best with a modern yet timeless traditional concept. A good blend that speaks both to Red Bank as a town and to the modern design of the building.

Wanting to create continuity throughout the building but present unique layouts for each space, the designers alternated placement styles of both products in the changing rooms, gang toilet room and single use ADA bathrooms. The mixture of these materials presented different schemes yet connectivity based on other architectural elements added to each space.
