The Year of Ultra Violet: Pantone's 2018 Color of the Year

Pantone, the world-renowned leader in color systems and leading technology for the selection of color has named Ultra Violet as the color of 2018. Ultra Violet holds an essence of luxury and mystery, throughout history, it has been incorporated into symbols of royalty, counterculture and non-conformity. Deep shades of purple have long been used for personal expression and individuality as seen with music icons such as David Bowie and Prince. Shades of violet are often commonly used to create a calm environment, often seen in meditation spaces such as yoga studios. Purple tile may be seen by many as a bold choice and is not particularly common in projects. However, when used creatively in certain focal points it can become a showstopper.
